Rocky Road Brownies
First Layer:
1/2 cup butter
1 square (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
Second Layer:
6 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
6 ounces chocolate chips
2 cups marshmallows
Last Layer:
1/4 cup butter
1 square unsweetened chocolate (1 ounce)
2 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup milk
3 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Grease and flour 9 by 13 pan
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
First Layer:
In large sauce pan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate. Take off heat. Add sugar, flour, nuts, baking powder, vanilla and eggs. Mix well and spread into pan.
Second Layer:
Combine cream cheese, sugar, flour, butter, egg, vanilla and nuts. Spread over chocolate mixture. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with marshmallows. Bake 2 minutes more.
Last Layer:
In large sauce pan over low heat, melt butter, chocolate cream cheese and milk. Take off heat. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Immediately pour over marshmallows.
Cool and cut into squares.
